Encourage new grads to stay connected with the Alumni Network

From coast to coast, Pathways alumni make up a strong community that can support each other’s successes and work together to lead positive social change locally and nationally.

Here are four easy ways for new Pathways grads to connect with the national Pathways Alumni Network—we encourage you to share the links with alumni at your program location:

  1. Pathways Canada’s Alumni Newsletter: Monthly alumni opportunities, news, and local events. Sign-up link: https://alumni.pathwaystoeducation.ca/contact/#newsletter
  2. Pathways Alumni Network Facebook page: A private group for alumni to receive regular updates and connect with one another. Link to join: https://www.facebook.com/groups/pathwaysalumniassociation
  3. Pathways Alumni Instagram: Updates about upcoming local events and opportunities to connect with other alumni. Follow us here: https://www.instagram.com/pathwaysalumnipasseport/
  4. Pathways Alumni Ambassador Program: Applications for Alumni Ambassadors from all program locations to start in Fall 2024 are open now until July 19th. Link to learn more: https://alumni.pathwaystoeducation.ca/alumni-ambassador-program-role-overview/

By staying connected with the Pathways Alumni Network, alumni across Canada can make an impact in 2 key ways:

  • Build community leadership experience: Alumni can help further the program by sharing their Pathways experiences to raise public awareness, such as at donor events, a story for the website, or an interview with the media. Alumni can also support the next generation of students by volunteering at the local program as a mentor or tutor.
  • Networking and community-building: By staying connected with the alumni network, alumni are helping to build a stronger community of support for their Pathways peers after graduation. Alumni can participate or lead in Pathways alumni engagements that benefit the community, program locations, and current students. For example, becoming a Pathways Alumni Ambassador, helping with a tour for current students at their post-secondary institution, or creating a mentorship group for Pathways alumni at their post-secondary institution or workplace.
