On February 4th, Pathways Spryfield invited the Montreal Steppers for a live presentation on Black Canadian History, told through the art form of step—a Black diasporic dance that uses the body as an instrument to create rhythms and beats.
While participating in a powerful combination of stomps, claps, and chants, students learned about the journeys of Black communities to Canada through the Underground Railroad, slavery, and migration.
